Dietmar Gugler born on 12-22-1961 in Neckarteilfingen came to
the horse via a school friend.
" I went to the riding club, washed hooves and continued with riding
later.
With 18 years he started with his riding education at Fritz
Liggers (Olympic champion 1972 and bronze medal winner 1984, later national
coach of the juniors and young riders in jumping).
1982 he won his first S-Jumping in Balve on "Thronfolger".
1983 Gugler moved to the sports company of the Federal Armed
Forces in Warendorf, moreover Fritz Ligges provided him with horses
to serve his military time.
1984 to 1988 he worked again as a rider for Fritz Ligges. In
this time he started to compete successfully international as well as
in Nation Cups.
1988 he started the management for the stud farm Prinzenberg
and the sporting area of the Dieter Hofmann foundation in Pfungstadt.
Dieter Hofmann foundation has the aim to support young talents in the
jumping sport. Gugler himself was responsible for the education of the
foundation own horses and for the use as well as for the allocation
of the horses to the young riders.
At this time the Dieter Hofmann foundation promoted more than
40 juniors and young riders up to the class S. Gugler his self competed
at all big national and international shows all over the world during
that time. He won nation cups and world cup classes with his top horses:
Donna Carrara, Pan-am, Caletto, Fatiniza, Fiorucci.
1995 he changed to the stable of Paul Schockemöhle, there
he was working in the international purchase and sale. In the same year
he took the examination for master craftsman`s diploma to the horse
economy master.
2001 the German Olympic Committee for Riding e.V. appointed
him as the new National coach of the juniors and young riders. Until
now he could obtain 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals with his charges
at European championships.
In April 2002 he rented the stud farm Prinzenberg, where he
worked as a manager years ago. Now he operates there a private economical
training stable for riders and horses. There are
always horses for sale also.
